Printing labels

Labels (sidebar) → choose a type, search and select items, choose a template and copies → Print. Labels can also be printed from documents (receipts, packing, dispatch) and from product, bin and batch screens.

TypeContent (default template)
ProductName, SKU, barcode
BatchName, batch, expiry, MFG date, GS1-128 barcode (01)(17)(10) when the product has a GTIN
Bin / locationBin code (large), barcode, warehouse, type
Carton (package)Package no., order, customer, ship-to
Pallet (receipt line)Reference, product, batch, expiry, quantity
Goods receiptReceipt no., supplier, date
DispatchDispatch no., customer, vehicle, LR number

Barcodes are rendered in the browser (JsBarcode for Code 128/EAN-13, qrcode-generator for QR) as SVG, so they stay sharp at any printer resolution.

Label templates

Labels → Templates (permission labels.configure): name, type, width × height (10–300 mm), page size (label roll, A4 or Letter), columns per page, margin and gap, barcode format (Code 128, EAN-13, QR), optional QR, and an HTML body with placeholders such as {{name}}, {{sku}}, {{batch_no}}, {{expiry_date}}, {{code}}, {{barcode}} and {{qr}}. Placeholders are HTML-escaped; scripts and event handlers are removed when a template is saved. One template per type can be the default. Printing is audited.

Printer setup

PrinterSetup
Thermal label printer (Zebra, TSC, Honeywell, etc.)Install the vendor's Windows/macOS driver. Create a paper size equal to the label (e.g. 100 × 50 mm). Set darkness/speed in the driver. In the browser print dialog choose the printer, that paper size, Margins: None, Scale 100%, headers/footers off
A4 label sheetsTemplate page size A4, set columns, margin and gap to match the sheet
Office printer (documents)GRN, pick lists, packing slips and delivery notes print on A4/Letter
Mobile (Android)Use the printer vendor's print service app; Bluetooth printers must support Android printing

Always print a test label after changing templates or printers.

Limitations

  • Browsers cannot print silently or send printer command languages (ZPL/EPL). Every print goes through the print dialog. Silent printing would need vendor software or a local print agent, which is outside the scope of a shared-hosting web app.
  • PDF output is Save as PDF in the print dialog.
